David Gelinas

David Gelinas focuses on capital structure optimization for sustainable infrastructure companies. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Lilac Solutions, a lithium extraction technology company that provides essential raw materials for the EV transition. Lilac has raised >$350 million to date.
Prior to joining Lilac, David was VP of Finance at Stem, a global leader in software for energy storage systems. At Stem he raised hundreds of millions of corporate equity and project finance for energy storage systems, ultimately leading to Stem's public listing on the NYSE. Prior to Stem, David was an investment banker at J.P. Morgan, Guggenheim, and Nomura Greentech. David holds a BA from Cornell University.

From Federal Support to FID: Bringing a U.S. Lithium Project to Life
Many lithium discussions focus on breakthrough technology or future market demand. Both matter, but neither guarantees that a project will ever be built. Between a successful pilot and an operating facility lies the giant, messy middle of project development: securing permits, negotiating bankable offtake, satisfying government and third-party financing requirements, completing detailed engineering, managing commodity-price exposure and developing a credible execution plan. This 30-minute moderated discussion will use Lilac Solutions’ Great Salt Lake lithium project to explore how a strategically important project pushes through those barriers and advances toward final investment decision, construction and commercial production.
