The U.S. Department of Commerce's Advocacy Center

About This Session

The U.S. Department of Commerce's Advocacy Center helps level the playing field for American companies competing for government-related contracts overseas, providing strategic guidance and coordinating high-level U.S. government engagement with foreign officials on their behalf.

Building on this model, the Advocacy Center recently launched the Strategic Transactions Advocacy Track (STAT), which extends the same advocacy methodology beyond traditional procurements to support U.S. companies pursuing foreign concessions, investments, and control of key assets in critical industries — including critical minerals, energy, and infrastructure. Through STAT, the Advocacy Center aims to strengthen U.S. competitiveness and supply chain security by ensuring American firms have a fair shot at strategically significant opportunities around the world.
